What Nobody’s Telling You About Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Trees
There’s something you should know. If you buy a pre-lit artificial Christmas tree with incandescent bulbs… you have to replace the bulbs when they go out.
When one bulb in a string of say… 50… goes out, all those other bulbs get just a bit more current. When another goes out, they get even more current; they are receiving the extra power that would have been going to the bulbs that are now out. As a rule of thumb, once you get more than 10% of lights on a strand out (on a 50 light strand, that would be 5), you are in the danger zone. Your remaining lit bulbs are getting TOO MUCH POWER! You might be headed for a black out, but it can be prevented!
Every year when you set up your tree, take your time and check for lights that are out. Start with the bottom section; put it in your tree stand, plug it in, and as you are shaping and “fluffing” the branches out, replace any dead bulbs as you see them. All our trees come with extra bulbs, but if you need more we sell them seasonally.
Proceed to the next section; add it to the bottom section, plug it in, fluff and check. Continue in this fashion, one section at a time, until you’re done! (3 sections total for a typical 7.5′ tree from us.)

Other Healthy Tree Habits
Don’t try to store your tree in it’s original shipping box. You’ll have to really smush it to get it in and you risk damaging the wiring system.
Don’t plug extra lights into the wiring harness on the tree. If you want to add multi lights one year, or bubble lights another, that’s ok just plug them directly into your wall outlet on their own separate extension cord.
Do keep your tree as dry and dust free as possible during storage.
Do take your tree apart each year for storage; trying to move an intact 7.5′ tree into an attic, garage, or closet is not only frustrating but rough on the tree itself. Just take it apart and make multiple trips! Use the workout to justify an extra Christmas cookie.
Do let us know if you are having problems! Very rarely something does go wrong with a tree that has nothing to do with bad tree ownership – please let us know! There is a 3 year warranty on the light system and a 15 year warranty on the tree itself; let us help make it right for you.
