Ordering Outdoor Replacement Cushions
When ordering replacement cushions for your patio furniture, there are many sizes, shapes, fabrics, and fills. Here’s how we can help.
How to measure for replacement cushions
When measuring, remember that your cushions used to be much fatter than they are now. When measuring for depth, width, and height, remember try to find the original corner for the interior cushion. It’s helpful if you get a solid measurement, but we prefer you bring your cushions to us. (We know they were outside, it’s okay if they’re a bit dirty and tattered!)
Bring in your cushions: We’ve carried about 20 distinct patio furniture brands through the years, and each brand can have around 40-50 styles each year (changing annually). Even if you’re confident with your measurements, you can never be too safe.
Existing Customers :If you bought the patio furniture since 2000, then we will have a record of your purchase. We please ask that you bring in examples of your cushions, just in case.
How much do replacement cushions cost?
Roughly one third of the price of your furniture was in the cushions. To judge how much your new replacement cushions will cost, find the currently sold equivalent to your original outdoor furniture set, and divide that price by three.
The outdoor cushion price depends on the thickness, grade of fabric, types of fill, width, depth, and style. Items like buttons or tufting will make it more expensive, as will higher quality grades of fabric, thicker fill, or denser foam.
Will my replacement cushions be the same as my originals?
Because outdoor furniture brands carry so many different styles of furniture, your specific style of cushion might not be available. We order from multiple different cushion companies, so we’re confident we can find you the best fit. Particularly if you didn’t purchase the furniture here, it’s rarely the exact brand. (Never say never…)
If you ordered from outdoor furniture brands such as Lloyd-Flanders, Homecrest, or Lane Venture, we prefer to order your replacement cushions directly from those companies. These brands make a point to service their furniture for life. They carry replacement parts and cushion service for nearly all retired furniture lines. It’s your choice, because these cushions are generally higher priced than our cushion manufacturers. The quality is unmatchable. We have a breakdown cushion sample in store so you can see the detail to the foam and fill.
If you’re refinishing a vintage or antique piece of furniture, we can order Sunbrella® fabric for any replacement. We can help you measure if the cushions are no longer intact. An appointment isn’t necessary, but during the summer months, it’s preferred. If needed, we can get you in contact with our upholsterer.
